Tribute to Pastor Bob Kurka
1955 - 2010
Pastor Bob has been pastor of Kinport Assembly of God since May of 1990. He was saved at the age of 12 years at McKeesport Assembly of God and filled with the Holy Sprirt at Living Waters Camp in Cherry Tree, PA. He received his credentials to preach with the Assemblies of God church while ministering in Arizona on March 10, 1982.
Acts 2: 42 - 47 gives us a picture of what the church is about and Pastor Bob feels the number one purpose of the church is to worship God with all your heart, soul, and mind. "They devoted themselves to...breaking bread and prayers...praising God." Plus fellowship...devoted to the fellowship...all the believers were together...they ate together." Along with the discipleship for "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching." He feels that service ought to be our outlook, "They gave to anyone as he had need." Lastly, outreach to those around us "...added to their number daily those who were being saved."
In 2010, he became ill while continuing to preach and being a servant to the congregation and community. He passed away November 3, 2010 with his family by his side.
